I didn’t prioritize health until I hit a wall in 2018—hospitalized with Lyme Disease and autoimmune issues after years of overworking. Since then, I’m all about helping others avoid that path. For me, health will always be more important than hustle.

Creating time-based, measurable goals should be part of your routine. Building structure keeps me leveling up, driving growth, and fueling resilience. When I started setting measurable goals, I took Rootstrap from $5M to $12M in 24 months, stepped down as CEO, and redefined our sales and marketing machine.

“It’s lonely at the top” is real—most founders don’t see how isolated they are until they take a closer look. During COVID, I launched my first coaching cohort, which grew into a mastermind and then Re:set: my men’s retreat for high-performing leaders seeking real connection. Community fuels growth, keeps us grounded, and reminds us why we do what we do.

Even now, I still feel like that shy 8-year-old trying to impress my dad. Working with him at a 650 sq. ft. kiosk selling batteries, he taught me how to sell, stay consistent, and lead with honesty—values that still guide me. Leading with integrity means honoring our word, showing up strong, and respecting the trust people place in us — our customers and employees.
Agility
Embracing Boldness and Adaptability
Agility is key to success, especially in uncertain times, and building a major compound in Costa Rica was my ultimate test. I tackled it like a startup—MVP mindset, weekly sprints, and constant iteration. Each week brought new challenges, from water issues to building roads in extreme weather. Bold moves and quick pivots turned obstacles into opportunities, proving that fortune favors the bold. Agility isn’t just speed; it’s resilience and the courage to adapt.

By sharing my journey, I’ve create an audience, have made deep connections, and reached over 750 million people turning storytelling into a profitable, impactful lead generation tool.
